This last weekend Jeff's mom was in town for some quality time with her best girl. We headed up to Winter Park, and Lauren got to go on her first bike ride. We rented a helmet for her, and they gave us a snowboard helmutsince they didn't have a bike helmet small enough. Her head got all sweaty and she wasn't thrilled.
Turns out she is probably just too young for this, and it isn't safe. The bike helmut people at Children's suggest they are 2-3 yrs old prior to riding in the bike trailor- that is no fun!! Interested in other people's take on this.

She's fine! I'm not sure she'll like it when she is 2 or 3, so enjoy it now!!! They make those trailers so safe.
We did earlier. The concern I have read about is basically inducing something similar to shaken baby syndrome due to the bouncing. Our trailer has shocks that are adjustable by weight to reduce the bumping.
We also only force the kids to wear helmets in the trailer when we are riding busy roads...which I try to avoid with them anyway. If we are on trails then no helmets.
