Lauren's First Camping Trip

My Cute family

Lauren playing by the river. She likes to suck on rocks (yuck-o!).

Cousin Cliffy gives Lauren a kiss. His licks are much bigger than Casey's.

Just chillin' in her camping chair that Grandma V bought for her

Lauren and Geoff. Lauren just woke up- this was her bedtime outfit- cozy! The temperature was in the 30's overnight we think- there was ice formed on the top of the cooler when we got up. Lauren (and I) did not sleep the best, but we are proud she made it- will make a story for later anyway!

Camping

Our annual camping weekend with friends. My brother Gus made the trip from Wisconsin with his dog, Clifford. We all had such a great time!

Lauren can crawl, yikes! Just in time for our camping trip this weekend in the mountains. Wonderful! But, she also says mama- love it!

New outfit

Grandma V made this outfit for Lauren. It is still a bit big, but she grows fast!

Three generations

More pics of my mom's visit

As promised, here are some more pics of my mom's visit last month. She was here for a little over a week, and she was Lauren's nanny for the week while we worked, then we went up to Winter Park for a long weekend. They had a great time- thanks Grandma V!

Orange nose

Lauren has an orange-ish nose. I have always thought this was strange, but Jeff poo-poos it and says it is all in my head. Well, I didn't want to run to the pediatrician and have them check her Bili to see if she is jaundice (well, yes I did want to, but I am somewhat reasonable). Today my friend at work commented on it. So, I typed into google "Why does my baby have an orange nose?" Turns out that is common in babies that eat a lot of carrots and sweet potatoes- something about beta carotene.

Hmmmm... I wonder how people raised children before the internet?

Cute Story

Lauren is getting more mobile every day. She can pull herself up on stuff with a little help, and occassionally can do it all on her own. She cracked up her teachers at daycare today because she was trying to pull herself up on a little bench. She apparently pulled up part way and then fell back down. On her second attempt she got up far enough that her mouth was even with the top edge, then she bit onto the edge and used her mouth plus her two hands to hold her there. Then she just held there with all of her might, until her teacher started cracking up and Lauren had to laugh too and fell down. What a silly, silly girl.

Family Photo

This was at the wedding reception. I really love this photo! Miss Lauren wasn't looking at the camera- she was too busy checking out all the people. She was a good girl this weekend, we are lucky to have such a nice baby that we can haul accross the country with us.

Grandma Grace

This is Jeff's grandma that Lauren is named after- she is so sweet!

Rehearsal Dinner

Grandma gives them rootbeer

Lauren and her cousins with Grandma Karen. She gives them rootbeer!! (Lauren's is not open, for the record.)

The Zoo

This past weekend we went to Bismarck, ND for Jeff cousin Ellen's wedding. It was a nice weekend, and we got to spend a lot of time with family. On friday we went to the Bismarck Zoo with L's grandma and grandpa. Lauren really liked it, she was into the goats.

Casey

Last friday I came downstairs to find this note where Casey's food bowl usually is. I guess Casey (and Jeff) forgot that he was getting his teeth cleaned and could not eat after 9pm. Silly!

A vibrating teether!

OMG! What will they think of next! Or should I say, what will grandma spoil her with next!?! So, Grandma V clearly saw that Lauren is deprived of toys and things to soothe her, so she bought her a vibrating teether- she got the one that looks like grapes. When she bites down, it starts to vibrate and is supposed to be soothing on their gums when they are teething. I don't think Lauren is actually teething yet, but she really really likes the teether. You see, Jeff and I really are not the ones spoiling her...

A fun visit!

A few pics my mom took- more to come...
