SOLD

Its been a whirl-wind. We listed the house on Wednesday around 11 am and had 12 showings the first day. Woke up on Thursday morning to hear we had multiple offers and they were still coming in. All good offers too. Lauren and I were up in Winter Park awaiting out-of-town family visitors. I really had not decided where we were going to move. I briefly looked at 4 properties on wednesday, and two of which I did not even go upstairs. I chose the 4 houses because there were close to each other and in a good school district- I didn't have much time to look so I picked the ones within the same housing development. I figured we would look again more closely once our house sold.

Hold your shorts! Once we heard that the house was going to sell within a day-  I called the real estate agent about the one house I had liked of the four. Asked her to talk to the agent about price and set up a saturday showing for Jeff and I to look at it together (jeff had not seen a single property). The call came back (before 10am mind you) that it had an offer. The only house I had seen that I liked- has an offer, Jeff hasn't seen it and my brother, aunt and uncle land at DIA in 10 minutes. I call Jeff- he is shocked and says,
J: "you liked it right?"
N: " yes I think so"
J:" then make an offer"
N: "but I want you to see it first"
J: " I trust you and dont have time. Just make an offer" (he was at work and planning on driving to the mountains right after"
Well, I couldnt buy a house without him seeing it. I emailed him the link to the listing and he liked it, once again suggesting  Igo ahead without him. I couldn't do it, and convinced him to look at it after work. I called the agent to meet him there and have the contract written, we decided on our offer and would make it if Jeff liked the place. He liked it, looked around for a few minutes- signed the offer and hopped in his car. I signed it from my phone- and viola! We bought a house- FAST! In the meantime there is a nice little bidding war over our house and I go to bed at 11pm knowing we were going to do well on our house and closing in less than a month.
Oh boy! here we are in a flood of inspections and paperwork. We have a back-up offer under contract on our house in case the first offer falls though. Our loan is done and our inspection on the house we bought went well. We are moving on the 20th of APRIL! Holy crap!
Our real estate agency is amazing!! I knew they were when we hired them, but WOW!! If you need an agent in Denver- http://www.washingtonparkhomes.com/ - Laurie Erb and her group are the very best. No question!
So, I need a moving company, a new preschool, a whole lotta furnature and some Ambien- all by April 20th. My mom is thankfully coming for the weekend of the move to help with Lauren. This is just a wild ride and I hope we are happy in our new place, its just surreal. We are moving to Greenwood Village in southeast Denver - a great school district and a 4 bedroom house with a big yard.   HERE WE GO!
